It's the end of term 1, and I find myself stuck at home with a very bored 9 year old for the next 2 weeks!! I've got no idea what to do with him. I'm thinking maybe we'll head off to the zoo for a day, but that still leaves 14 days to fill in! Yes that isn't a typo, 14 days, he gets 2 weeks off, and then the Monday of the return week is a pupil free day. At the moment he's enjoying the use of the internet, but that won't last, and besides, I don't want him on the computer 24/7, he'll go cross eyed!

His very belated birthday party was last weekend (12th April) He had an absolute blast! His birthday is the 1st but we weren't here for it. His cousins were there, but only one of his invited friends bothered to attend. That really ticked me off, he didn't care though. I made him a volcano cake, complete with foliage and dinosaurs. He loved it, I must admit, I was quite proud of it myself. I'll upload a picture when I can be bothered. I've decided that since his next birthday is double digits, it calls for something special, so I'm going to shout him and 3 of his friends to the movies. He should like that.

We've signed him up for soccer this year, I've just got to get him some proper shoes and some shin pads. Mouth guards are optional, so I'm not sure whether we'll get one or not. Being an over protective mum, I'm leaning more towards purchasing one. My hubby will say I'm 'babying' him though, and try to talk me out of it.
